Overview

Dhaulagiri Sanctuary Trekking is a newly opened trekking trail in the lap of the Dhaulagiri Himalayas Range. It is also known as Dhaulagiri South Base Camp Trek or Easy Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trekking. This Dhaulagiri Sanctuary Trekking is considered to be moderate to strenuous trekking in Nepal and hence the travelers or trekkers need a good physical endurance to walk for about 7/8 hours every day. This Dhaulagiri Sanctuary Trek is also short trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp(South) at an elevation of 4050 m. Trekking trail to Dhaulagiri Sanctuary passes from Jhi through the Gyasikharka, Phedi, and Odar camps then descending towards Chaari, Dagnam reaching Beni; the headquarters of Myagdi District. Beni was once popular as a trade route between Nepal and Tibet.

Short Itinerary

  • Day: 01 :

    Arrival in Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day: 02 :

    Drive to Pokhara, and side excursion around the Lake and Sunset view from World Peace Stupa.

  • Day: 03 :

    Drive to Beni 830m. We will stop by Kusma 730m, here we experiencing few High Hanging bridge over Kaligandaki and Modi River. Over Night at hotel in Beni.

  • Day: 04 :

    Beni to Jhi 1680m by 2 hours drive and trek around two hours. Overnight at Local home stay.

  • Day: 05 :

    Trekking to Ghyasikharka 1865m. 7 hours trekking. Overnight at local home stay.

  • Day: 06 :

    Tekking to Phedi Camp 2466m. 6 hours trekking. Overnight at tented camp.

  • Day: 07 :

    Trekking towards Odar Camp 3189m. 7 hours trekking. Overnight at tented camp.

  • Day: 08 :

    Odar Camp to Dhaulagiri South Base Camp 4055m. 8hours trekking. Overnight at tented camp.

  • Day: 09 :

    Trek down to Chhari 2,020 m, from Dhaulagiri South Base Camp. Overnight at traditional homestay. 8 Hours

  • Day: 10 :

    Trekking down to Dagnam 1720m. 7 hours easy walking. Overnight at local home stay.

  • Day: 11 :

    Drive to Beni by jeep. 2 hours drive. Overnight at Hotel in Beni.

  • Day: 12 :

    Drive to Kathmandu by coach. 10 hours. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day: 13 :

    Free day in Kathmandu.

  • Day: 14 :

    Transfer to Kathmandu International airport for final departure.
