Rara Lake Motorbike Ride Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Nepal, Trekking Trail Nepal Team transfers you to the hotel.
The itinerary of the Rara Lake Motor Bike Tour starts today. When you arrive at Kathmandu airport, we will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. Once you reach and check into the hotel, you will have free time to relax so that you adjust yourself to the Kathmandu atmosphere far away from your home. Then, you can do some wandering around. We will be giving you some guidance on how to do that if you feel the need. We will have an orientation session about the trip in the evening.
Day 2: Ride from Kathmandu to Lumbini or Bhairahawa (292 km). 8-9 hours.
It is the first ride on this trip. Our Royal Enfield motorbikes will be all ready to thunder past different towns and cities on our ride to Lumbini today. The adventure begins after breakfast in the morning and heads towards the destination. About 9 hours of motorbike riding will take us through different towns and cities and beautiful landscapes to enjoy. The highway that stretches along River Trishuli takes us to Narayangadh to meet the southern plains of Nepal before the street stretches towards Lumbini.
On reaching Lumbini, we can explore this beautiful and sacred birthplace of Buddha.
Day 3: Highway ride from Lumbini to Kohalpur, around 270 km, around 5-7 easy hours of riding.
The second-day ride of the Rara Lake Motor Bike Tour is to Kohalpur in western Nepal. This 270-kilometer stretch on the east-west highway brings us the remarkable southern rural life of Nepal. About seven hours of easy-paced riding will allow us more time to soak in the beauty of towns, villages, and the surroundings. Our overnight stay is at Kohalpur today.
Day 4: Motorbike ride from Kohalpur to Manma, 250 km.
From today onwards, our ride is mainly Karnali bound to the ultimate destination, Rara Lake. After that, we will be heading to Manama, the district headquarters of Kalikot. We complete a 250-kilometer stretch of the motorable road to reach Manama. The ride today will introduce us to the remoteness of the western hills of Nepal. The ruggedness of the landscape with challenging terrain makes an impression of the complex life living there. As the road is narrow and off-road, our speed is slow and careful, but at the same time, we will have plenty of time to absorb and soak in the reality of the surroundings.
Day 5: Manma to Talcha Airport, Mugu, 150 km.
On the second day of off-roading towards Rara Lake, we will reach Talcha for an overnight stay. Another day of exploring the wilderness of the region is due today. We are riding about 150 kilometers to Talcha today, which lies close to Rara Lake. People who choose not to drive or ride fly to this place from Nepalgunj and trek to Rara.
Day 6: Trek to Rara Lake, Mugu, Nepal.
The riding part of this journey is up to Talca only. We are trekking to Rara Lake which is just a short trek on a beautiful trekking trail. When we reach Rara Lake, we will be mesmerized by the beauty of a peaceful and massive lake. We settle on the bank of beautiful Rara Lake and soak into the beauty. We will enjoy the lake all day and its surroundings.
Day 7: Rara to Surkhet- 270 km.
Early in the morning, as the lake casts fresh and peaceful air upon us, we trek down to Talca. And the riding adventure begins again. We are headed to Surkhet today on another off-roading trip. Finally, we reach Surkhet in the evening to relax and finish the off-road trip on the journey.
Day 8: Surkher to Butwal via Kohalpur, 310 km.
Although the highway stretch is long, 310 km, today, it will be an easy ride. Our ride goes from Kohalpur to Butwal. Butwal is a beautiful city along the east-west highway of Nepal, closer to Lumbini. We spend the night in Butwal.
Day 9: Butwal to Kathmandu—282 km.
We rode back to Kathmandu along the same highway that we took to ride to Lumbini on the 2nd day of the Rara Lake MotorbikeTour. So it will be another seven-hour ride to Kathmandu.
