Upper Dolpo is a remote region located in the far west of Nepal. The region is protected as the Shey Phoksundo National Park. The whole Trekking region of Upper Dolpo lies in the north of the Dhaulagiri Sanctuary that borders the Tibetan plateau. Most of the inhabitants of this region still rely on trading Tibetan salt as it is nearly impossible to grow anything in this region.

Our Upper Dolpo Trekking truly starts from Dunai and on the fifth day of our trek you reach the famous Shey Phoksundo Lake. The alpine fresh water lake is religiously significant to the Tibetan culture as a number of stupas and a Gompa surround the lake. From Phoksundo, we trek to Shey Gompa via Kang-La pass. In Shey Gompa, you can visit the famous Crystal Monastery, a place of religious significance to people of Dolpo.

Your trek comes to a stop in Juphal after 21 days of trekking in the Upper Dolpo Valley. From Juphal you will board a 35 minute scenic flight to Nepalgunj and catch another flight to Kathmandu. We will celebrate our success story over dinner in Nepalese Restaurant and Upper Dolop Trekking Comes to End.

Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal; Land of Everest.

After Arrival in Kathmandu, Trekking Trail Airport Representative will we take you to the hotel in Kathmandu where you meet Trekking Trail Nepal officials and your Upper Dolpo Trekking Team. We will discuss about the trek and provided you the all details of Upper Dolpo Trekking and over night at hotel in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu to Nepalgunj with flight.

After Breakfast we drive to our airport for our flight to Nepaljung. The flight between Kathmandu and Nepaljung is one of the scenic flight. You can choose your seat according to the interest of Views. Take right window for the views of Himalayas while seat on left gives you the clear aerial view of southern plain lands, dense forest and more. After the flight of 45 minutes you have free time to explore the Indian border town of Nepaljung.

Nepalgunj to Juphal (2475 m) flight and Juphal to Dunai (2140m)/ 3hrs.

After breakfast in our hotel, we will drive to Nepaljung Airport which is in distance of 15 Kilometer. With the 35 minutes of we will land in the small airport of Juphal which lies at 2,476 meter above sea level. Juphal airport is the starting point of our Upper Dolpo Trekking. We start our day 1 trekking of Upper Dolpo towards Dunai. Dunai is the small town type of village lies above 2,145 meter from sea level. Our trek of day 2 is the easy and short one. We complete our hiking in about 3 hours. Nepalgunj to Juphal (2475 m) flight and Juphal to Dunai (2140m)/ 3hrs.

Dunai to Chhepka.

From today the real Trekking Itinerary of Upper Dolpo start. In first part of trekking trail we hike in relatively flat landscape. In the second part, we enter to the Shey Phok Sunto National Park. Here we issue the National Park Permit for every trekkers and certified the Upper Dolpo Trekking Permits here. After being in Upper Dolpo Trekking area today we follows trekking trail of tropical green forest and small village on every places with name. Today we will cross the villages like Sulighat, Jutung, Shangta, Kageni. On this part of trekking trail will will follow 2 river Phoksundo River and Maiaba River and finally reach Chhepka.
