Tibet Lhasa Tour 5-Days Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa by taking a train or flight.
Lhasa airport or train station pick-up by our local English-speaking tour guide and private van, then transfer you to the hotel (3-star). The rest of the day is free on your own.
Day 2: Full-day Lhasa visit to Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street.
Hotel pick-up in the morning, then spend the whole morning visiting the famous Potala Palace and exploring the mythical halls, exhibition chambers, and figures of the Buddha. In the afternoon, tour the holy temple in Tibet, the Johkang Temple, which was built during Songtsen Gonpo's period by the princess of Wencheng in the Great Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). The circular pilgrim way around Jokhang Temple is named Barkhor and later flourished, forming the embryo of the city. The Barkhor market is one of the most famous sites throughout Tibet, and it is the ideal place to buy traditional Tibetan artifacts, religious implements, antiques, books, Tibetan musical instruments, Thangkas, traditional Tibetan clothes, etc.
Day 3: Full-day Lhasa tour to Drepung Monastery? Tibet Museum? Sera Monastery.
Drepung Monastery is located at the foot of a holy mountain and was established by Jamyang Choeje (a follower of Songtsen Gonpo) in 1416. It used to be the home of 10,000 monks, and it was the center of government before the fifth Dalai Lama. Then, the government was moved to the famous Potala Palace. Later on, you can also visit the Nechung monastery, which is located 1 km southeast of Drepung and is the abode of the protector deity Pehar and the seat of the state Oracle of Tibet.
In the afternoon, we will visit Tibet Museum, Tibet's first museum in the modern sense. The Museum of Tibet, situated at the southeastern corner of the Buddhist religious garden Norbulingka in Lhasa, was inaugurated in October 1999 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 40th anniversary of the Democratic Reforms in Tibet as the product of one of 62 Chinese government-funded projects launched in July 1994 in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Autonomous Region of Tibet. Covering 53,959 square meters. At around 3:00 pm, we will go on to visit the Sera monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Jamchen Choeje.
Day 4: Tour from Lhasa to Namtso Lake and back to Lhasa.
Hotel pick-up and check-out by our guide and driver at 8:00 am, then leaving Lhasa for Namtso Holy Lake. While on the way, the beautiful Nyenchen Thanglha snow mountain will accompany us. Today, we will have chances to be escorted to the grassland, visit the nomad family, walk into the tent to drink the fresh yak milk, talk with the Tibetan Children, etc.
Day 5: End of the 5-Day Lhasa Tour.
Later we transfer you to the airport or train station.
