After breakfast we start the first day of the Short Poon Hill Trekking from Pokhara. With a 2-hour drive, we reach NayaPul (1075 m), which is the starting point of our trek. For the first 25 minutes we followed the Himalayan river called Modi, which comes from Annapurna. For the next 3 hours, we follow another river called Bhurungdi Khola till our lunch in Tikhedungga. After lunch we start to hike for about 2 hours and reach our camp in Banthanti.
Day 2 of 3 Days Short Poon Hill Trekking from Pokhara is one of the easy, short, and beautiful days. The trekking trail is mostly covered with the green dense forest of Himalayan oak, different species of rhododendron, Robusta, Woodfordia, and Fruticosa, with many others.
With the easy trekking of about 2-3 hours, we will reach the popular town of Ghorepani. Ghorpani is a small town situated at 2865 meters above sea level, just in the lap of Poon Hill. Not only Poon Hill, but also the town of Ghorepani offers the beautiful peak of Annapurna South as the closest, Mt. Dhaulagiri 1, 2, and 3, and Nilgiri, as well as Tukuche Peak. Ghorepani is the closest town to Poon Hill. There is no lodge or tea house in Poon Hill Visitor Park.
After enjoying our lunch and a little rest with a beautiful view from the room, we start to hike for sunset towards Poon Hill. Today we enjoy the Himalayas but with a little more contrast and fewer people. Trek down to Ghorepani, have dinner, and wait for sunrise.
