Tsum Valley Manaslu Trek- one of the most underrated treks in Nepal to explore natural wilderness under the cloak of spirituality and culture. The spiritually gold environment boosts up the whole trekking scene. Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek provides tranquility at its very best. The solace and self-satisfaction after hugging nature with open arms make the trip worthwhile.

It is also about rich cultures, traditions, and religions. The gorgeous valley of Tsum also expresses the ancient handcrafts and arts at their very best.  Having been influenced by Tibet to an extent, there are a lot of places and things that resemble some parts of Tibet. Although this section is not an easy one, the mountain views of Ganesh Himal (North-west )and Ganesh Himal VI will surely motivate and energies you to go further and higher for the best adventure. The trail between Gho village and Chaurikharka is the hardest one. Not only because of uphill inclines but also the rock usually slides here. We request you to complete this section in group and not on a windy afternoon day.
It takes an easy 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete 4.5 km till Chaurikharka.

In Chaurikharka you can rest for a while and start your walk to the final destination of tonight Chekumpar 3031 m. This last part is quite relaxing with the wide deep valley with deep gorges and high alpine forests. Couples of Buddhist Mane with prayers flags welcome you to the village. We have many beautiful villages to cross and all the villages are separated by long-long ancient mane wall and Mane which were made with hands. The village has big Mane Stupa standing on our trail not just to welcome us but to offer blessings and best wishes for our Tsum Valley Trek. In addition, this symbolizes the value of religion, culture, and beliefs. The first this we need to do is to start our hike to Nile village by registering our names on the Police Checkpost which is in the middle of Chekampar Village.

We will cross small villages like Chhokang, Lamagaun, Bursi, Lar ( Village on another side of Lama Gau ), Phurpey, Chhule, Pungdun ( where the big Prayer wheel is on the way) and monasteries like Rachen Gomba and Milarepa Cave on the side of the trail in distance.

Ngakyu village to Lama Gau 30 minutes to cover 2 Km.

From Lama Gau to Phurpey Choeren Village takes 1 hour crossing a small suspension bridge and 3 Km as distances wise. Finally, we reach Nyle ( Nile) village through Chhule village with one more hour of easy hike covering 3.3 Km we made our day.

Day 11: Trek down to Rachen Gompa.

After the delicious morning breakfast made by monks and nuns, we move to our next monastery destination of Bursi. This is another old monastery that lies on the off-track of Tsum Valley just another side of Bursi Village, widely known as Rachen Gompa. By saying goodbye to the small village like Nyle (Nile), Chule, Pangdun, Phurpey, and Lar we reach another monastery camp of Rachen Gompa.
Rachen Gompa also offers lodging and meals facilities for all travels. Although the accommodation facility is the very basis you can feel yourself while exploring the trust and value of the old Buddhist religion which juggles with Tibetan culture. Distance 10 Km, Hiking duration 6 hours 30 minutes

Day 12: Trek down to Chummling Village.

We start our day a little late, obviously with breakfast. We hike through the same trekking trail we use a few days before. Similarly, we will enjoy our lunch as well dinner and next breakfast in the same hotel in Chumming. Distance 16 Km, Hiking duration 9 hours 30 minutes.

Day 13: Trek to Pewa.

The town has only 2 lodged so please make your reservation earlier as possible. We will start our hike at about 8:00 from Chumling following the same trail which we enjoyed hiking up for days earlier. The first part of the trail is inclined downhill till the river where we cross our first suspension bridge and reach the place called Ghadhi Khola, After here trail change its attitude and we need to hike uphill to some point and reach the section where we have to cross the cantilever bridge and another small suspension bridge and inclined trail to Lokpa for our lunch.

This first section before lunch is about 10.5 Km, which takes approximately 4 hours with a normal hike. Alter delicious mountain lunch we start our hike towards the Tsum Valley Gate following a very peaceful trail covered with bush forest and a few pine trees. Within the next 45 minutes of a hike, we reach the divider point of Tsun Valley Trek and Manaslu Circuit Trekking where we cross another suspension bridge and hike towards Pewa. After hiking and 20 minutes from divider point we cross a small town called Nyak Phedi 1625 m and follow the trail towards Pewa along the side of Budhi Gandaki River.

This part of the trekking trail is between two-sided high Rocky cliffs and is full of viewpoints to catch the blue water at the bottom. The rhythmic roaring river makes our journey more natural to end our day of Tsum Valley Manaslu Circuit Trekking. We need to cross 2 more bridges over the same river after a long suspension bridge that joins Tsum Valley to the Manaslu Circuit Trekking area. After the second bridge on the Manaslu Circuit Trekking trail section, we need to hike 20 minutes which covers 1.3 Km to our camp to Pewa 1700 m.

  • Distance between the towns for today with time.
  • Chumling to Lokpa 10.5 Km which takes 4 hours.
  • Lokpa to Nyke Phedi Bridge is 3.5 Km and takes 1 hour.
  • The bridge to Pewa is 3.5 km and takes 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • In total, we hike about 17.5 km in 6 to 7 hours to make our day.

Day 14: Pewa to Gap 15.5 Km 5 Hours 30 Minutes.

Our day is one of the intense in our whole Tsum Valley Manaslu Circuit Trek. Difficult because of more ups and downs and Wendy areas to cover together with landslides or stone falling zones. Our day starts from Pewa about 8 to 8-30 am after a healthy energetic breakfast. The first section to Deng village is one of the easiest parts of the day which covers about 3.5 Km and an easy hike of about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

After crossing a small bridge you reach Deng village from where you can see Buddha Himal and Shringi Mountain Range. Trekking Tra from Deng towards Rana Village just before crossing the Budhi Gandaki River is quite easy but to reach Rana village after crossing the bridge the toughest part is waiting for us. This uphill is full of loose stones on the trail which could take up to reach a small town of Rana village which elevated at 1970 m.

Rana Village is a quiet good place to have a good break to catch your breath and recharge your energy level, although Rana Village has no proper place to have snacks even tea. The distance between Deng To Rana Village is about 2.2 Km which can take about 1 hour with an easy and steady hike.

From Rana Village, we walk through more ups and downs just because of geographic conditions however these are shorts and full of nature and views points. The suspension bridge which leads to the Bihi Village with waterfall along the green bush looks amazing to see just below it just before our Lunch place at Bihi Phedi. The wind will be in full swing just before you reach the welcome gate of Bihi Phedi Village. Please take care of your hat and caps.

The distance between Rana to Bihi Phedi is 2.2 Km which can be covered in 45 minutes. After a special lunch in Bihi Phedi with the music of wind we start our hike towards our destination for tonight which is Gap. This is a pretty big village just on the side of the Budhi Gandaki river. We cross a small town called Bhijam 2020 m, and Bur. This part of our trail is full is surprised not only going up and down but a few sections of landslides which we need to cross with special care. To reach Bhijam village we need to hike about 30 minutes which is just 2 Km away from Bihi Phedi. And to Gap aka Ghap is 5 km which takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Gap village is also mentioned and written as Ghap or even Gop where we end our day at the elevation of 2380 m.

In total, we hike about 15.5 km which needs hours 7 to 8 hours including lunch, drink, and rest breaks.

The views of the high bridge towards Bhi village are awesome from our trail towards Bihi Phedi is the one best attractions of the day.

Day 15: Gap to Namrung and continue to Lho village.

Our day of Tsum Valley Manaslu Trekking itinerary for the day will be shorter. We will hike about 9 hours and 30 minutes max 4 hours just 17 km to end our day.
