While you want to join our yoga treks in the mountains, there are certain points that you need to know before making the decision. These points will help you understand how we operate our yoga trekking trips. If these points still do not incorporate the answer you are looking for, please feel free to ask us any time. As the trip is not only about practicing yoga but also walking the mountainous trekking trail, you will be practicing your yoga all in open space. While on the trek in the mountains, we will find a suitable place to practice yoga at our overnight camps. But, at some of the places, the practice can be at the teahouse itself if the place has space. But, you have to be prepared to do the yoga outdoors, in the beautiful nature.
If you have been practicing yoga at your home, you may find the yoga style on the trek different. But, you have to be open and welcoming for yoga style taught on the yoga trek. Our style is Hatha yoga based on traditional Ashtanga system. You can also share your experience of your particular style of practice but the whole class will follow the instruction of our assigned yoga teacher.
All the meals served during the trip will be vegetarian foods. As a Yoga Trekking trip, we will follow the path of ahimsa (non-violence) throughout the trip. We will best stay away from harming any living beings knowingly or unknowingly. We will also be careful in taking care of the mother earth to our best.
Our fixed departure yoga treks are all group joining yoga treks, so you have to be open to mixing up with new yogi and yogini trekkers from different parts of the world. If you find it uncomfortable to mix with new people, this may not be the trip for you. But if you want to organize a private yoga trekking for your group on your dates, we can organize one for you. As our yoga treks go at high altitude, especially Everest Base Camp Yoga Trek and Mardi Himal Yoga Trek, there might be some altitude related issues. If any such problem is seen on someone during the trek, the trekking guide will immediately assign a porter to descend you to a lower elevation while the rest of the group will continue further with the guide, yoga leader, and other team members.
We want to assure you that we completely discourage unnecessary Helicopter evacuation until and unless it is an absolute need. The minor altitude or other health-related issues will be solved using best methods possible on the spot. So, please be cooperative with the yoga leader and trekking guide and let them know how you are feeling as you trek higher. Let them know if you have got any issues so that the immediate solution can be found. We expect and appreciate your cooperation.
